*Note* I think natural remedies are great but so is medication. If you feel like you need medication please go see a physician as soon as possible.

Bergamot Oil: This oil is used as a natural sedative or relaxant. Some people have also reported that it is effective in treating depression. It can reduce anxiety and stress as well as help with sleeplessness an high blood pressure.

Lavender Oil: Lavender is one of my absolute favorite scents. I always use it when I take a bath at night. If you want to upgrade your nighttime routine read in the bath with lavender oil and some bubbles every night. This is no joke my favorite part of my day. Lavender oil has been shown to reduce anxiety, emotional stress and relieve headaches.

Vetiver Oil: This oil is used to help you ground yourself and it has been useful in helping relieve jitters. It helps promote feelings of calmness and stabilization making it useful for people working to overcome trauma.

Ylang Ylang: I recently added this to my oil rotation. It is supposed to help alleviate symptoms of depression by promoting cheerfulness and optimism. If you need a boost of good vibes try out this oil.

Rose Oil: I love the scent of rose. Like lavender it is also great for relaxation. I tend to use rose oil in the morning and lavender at night. Rose oil can be used to help treat anxiety, trauma and promote overall relaxation.

Chamomile Oil: Lots of people know chamomile tea can help you relax but the oil is less popular. I personally don’t really like the taste of chamomile tea so this is a good alternative. Like the tea it is used to help destress and some people have been able to use it to reduce their anxiety.

Jasmine Oil: Some people say this oil is just as good as valium for reducing anxiety (I’m skeptical!). Either way this oil is supposed to be a great option for reducing anxiety. I haven’t tried it yet but it’s on my list to order. If you try it please let me know if it works!

Ginger Oil: This oil has been shown to help relieve symptoms of depression. It can also be used to treat symptoms of chronic pain and arthritis. I find depression to be really physically painful so that might be why I find this oil effective.

Cinnamon Oil: Like ginger, cinnamon has been used to treat symptoms of pain. It is an anti-inflammatory that can help relieve achiness and other physical symptoms of depression. If you find depression to be really physically painful try out cinnamon oil to see if it helps.

Wintergreen Oil: This oil is often described as “aspirin” because of it’s ability to relieve physical symptoms. It is used to relieve muscle aches, joint pain and headaches. Some people have reported that it is helpful in managing their depression.

If you’re looking for a diffuser, I’m a big fan of this one from Amazon. It has different LED lights in it so you can make it whatever color you want.

If you haven’t tried any of these oils yet pick one and see if it works for you.

Aromatherapy has only been shown to be effective as a treatment for anxiety and depression for some people.

It has low side effects and it is a cheap treatment option so I recommend you try it and see if you can find an oil that will help you.

If you feel like you need medication I encourage you to see a physician as soon as you can.
