Hello,

Life can really kick you around sometimes and I am definitely walking through that right now. The thing I’ve found to be really tough is that when I’m processing something difficult all my old stories and insecurities come up.

Issues I thought I had left far behind me suddenly resurface and start bouncing around in my brain.

There’s something about negative emotions that just attract more negative emotions.

They’ve been coming in like I opened a flood gate lately.

I have a little trick that I wanted to share that I am using to keep these troll thoughts from running wild in my mind.

The first thing I do is practice yelling NO out loud. This sounds weird but we’re so often accommodating and just going along with things in our life it is rare we say a hard NO.

When I yell NO out loud I feel what the feeling feels like in my body.

Every time I feel a negative troll thought popping its head up I think NO in my mind and call the feeling of NO into my body.

No is a powerful word.

It’s final, no room for debate. No room for negotiation.

I’ve found the trick with this is to really call the feeling of no into my body while I think no in my mind. Thinking no without the feeling doesn’t feel as final and before I know it I’m engaging with that troll thought or thinking about something that happened years ago.

You have to be bossy with your mind. Our brains are amazing but they are always active. Even when you’re sleeping your brain is turned on.

If you don’t step up as a leader and take control of your thoughts your brain will run wild.

I hope this helps you remember that you’re the boss. You get to decide what is OK and what is allowed inside your mind and what is not. You get to set the boundaries. You get to say hell no.
