I’ve struggled with clinical depression for most of my life and the truth is I still have bad days.
When I have an off day I give myself grace and up my exercise and self-care. If I’m feeling really low I will usually spend time laying around between the tasks I have to get done. When I’m laying around I try to listen to uplifting things on the internet.
Sometimes I’ll listen to an audiobook or podcast but when I’m really not feeling good I don’t have the attention span for something like that. During these times I turn to standup comedy to help me take my mind off things for a little while.
Standup has gotten me through some tough times and it’s a great way to distract yourself and pass a little time when you’re really depressed.
