For me taking the first steps is definitely the hardest part of making life changes and I wasted so much time putting off getting started.

If you’re struggling to get started tap into the reasons why you want to change your life and try to use them to get motivated.

One of my biggest regrets is the year I spent suffering silently instead of taking steps to change my life.

Once I found the right people and tools to help me manage my depression and anxiety my entire life changed for the better but none of that wouldn’t have been possible if I hadn’t ever taken the first excruciating steps on my journey.

Believe Healing Is Possible

My own limiting beliefs kept me locked into a life that I didn’t really like.

I didn’t take any steps to change my life because I didn’t believe that healing was actually possible for me.

Looking back, I realize this was a lie that was part of my mental illness and not the truth.

If your having thoughts that are holding you back from changing your life call them into question and evaluate if they are actually really true.

It can be difficult to tell if our own thoughts are true or not so to judge them objectively pretend they are thoughts your best friend is having.

Would you tell your BFF that she is going to be miserable forever or would you tell her healing is possible?

I was always far more negative inside my own head than I ever would have been with other people.

I have turned my life around in a pretty short amount of time overall and there is nothing special about me.

I believe if healing is possible for me it is possible for you too.

Get On The Other Side of Fear

Sometimes to really change our lives we have to do things that are really uncomfortable and scary.

For years I dreamed of becoming a professional blogger but I was too scared to publish anything on the internet.

I let my fear hold me back and keep me from starting. These days I’ve trained myself to do things that are uncomfortable and scary.

I know that in order to become the person I want to be and to live the life that I want to live I have to do things that are scary and difficult.

I am scared of pretty much everything but the more I practice ignoring my own fear the easier it gets.

I decided a long time ago that I am willing to do things that are scary if it moves me closer to living the life that I really want to live.

If you really want to change your life today you have to decide that you’re not going to let anything hold you back.

Go Big

I believe the best thing you can do for this world is to show up as the most authentic version of yourself.

You were made different from every single human on this planet for a reason and it is your duty to live your life as the most authentic version of yourself that you possibly can.

I hope you take this as a sign to do the thing that’s been on your heart and tell all your fear to eff off.

When I started to really follow my own desires the universe arranged itself in incredible ways to support me and I suddenly found there were opportunities waiting for me everywhere.

Once I started taking steps to change the things I didn’t like in my life everything started to fall into place.

If you truly want to start taking steps to change your life in a big way my biggest piece of advice is to act as if you knew everything is going to work out.

What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail? How would you live your life if you knew everything would work out for you.

  2. Launched my blog
  3. Started my own podcast
  4. Planned more trips
  5. Bought myself camping gear
  6. Got a high-end membership to a gym I am obsessed with
  7. Started visiting my favorite places more often (the beach!)
  8. Invested in my own personal development
  9. Started writing affirmations every single day
  10. Got a membership for on-demand workouts
  11. Forgave people from my past
  12. Started keeping a planner
  13. Created a morning and evening practice
  14. Started practicing more gratitude
  15. Made spending time with my family a priority
  16. Quit drinking except for on special occasions
  17. Started taking more walks
  18. Made spending time with my dog a priority
  19. Made friends with people I admire online
  20. Made a commitment to write in my journal every day
  21. Started celebrating small daily accomplishments
  22. Stopped binge-watching TV
  23. Started following women on Instagram that inspire me
  24. Started listening to hella podcasts
  25. Cut out junk food from my diet

A lot of these seem like small changes but they have really all added up to have a huge impact on the way I feel on a daily basis.

I think making small changes that feel really aligned with how you want to feel can really help you change your life today.

I am a big fan of 30-day challenges to really seal in a new habit. I  do this when I’m adding new things to my fitness routine or when I’m making a lifestyle change.

Right now I am in the middle of a dry 30 challenge where I gave up alcohol for 30 days and I feel better than ever.

Think of a small change you could make that would make you feel better and commit to doing it every single day for 30 days.

When I have done this in the past I was able to really see the results in how I feel and that helped motivate me to keep doing the habit once the 30 days were up.

If you want to start feeling better you have to change your behavior to align with the new life that you want.

My life now couldn’t be more different from what it was only a few short years ago.

I went from having no money and nowhere to live to owning my own home and running an online business.

You never know what blessings are waiting ahead of you and I hope this post inspires you to get excited about your future and to dream really freaking big.
