Beachbody on Demand Review

You guys, I am really really loving Beachbody on demand! If you follow me on Instagram you know that I have been on a huge exercise kick. I would say that working out and healthy eating are the single most important things I do for my depression and anxiety. I know it can be tough to work out when you’re depressed (trust me, I get it) but it really does help. I’m on a mission to help as many ladies kickstart their fitness journey as possible and I’ve been mentoring a limited number of super motivated babes to help them stay on track (if you’re interested you can apply here). I hope this review will help you decide if Beachbody On Demand is right for you.

Does It Work?

When I first signed up for Beachbody On Demand I figured it would be good to use on days when I couldn’t get to the gym. After I did a few of the workouts I started to feel like I got better results from following the Beachbody workouts then what I was doing at the gym. I wasn’t actually pushing myself that hard at the gym and wasn’t ever really doing ass-kicking workouts. I don’t have a fitness background and I never really felt like I knew what to do at the gym. At one point I looked into trying to hire a personal trainer to learn how to exercise more effectively but it is soooo expensive at the gym I go to. The trainers that designed the programs in the Beachbody program are elite personal trainers and a lot of them even help keep a lot of celebrities in shape. These programs are designed to really get results so as long as you push play and actually do the workout you will see visible results. I finished the 21-day fix program and was blown away that I saw real results in how I looked and how my clothes fit and the workouts were only 30 minutes long including the warmup and cool down.

Why I Love It

This is the perfect way to stay in shape when you’re really busy. I love that I can get in a really solid workout in just 30 minutes from my house without going to the gym. I actually really like going to the gym but it’s expensive and it takes time to drive there every day. Plus a lot of the classes I wanted to do at the gym aren’t available during the times I have to work out. I love that with the Beachbody workouts I can do them around my schedule even if it’s really late at night. It’s also perfect if you travel a lot. You can even download workouts if you’re going to be without wifi. At home, I do the workouts on my smart TV but if you’re traveling you can use your computer, phone or tablet!

Nutrition

I am always looking for healthy meal ideas and was so thrilled to learn that they actually have a whole bunch of cooking videos in the on-demand library. These are perfect if you’re like me and not great at cooking. They show you exactly how to make easy healthy meals. In addition to the cooking show, there are also custom meal plans that go with the various workout plans to help you get even better results. I supplement my workouts with their Shakeology which is their nutrition shake. I originally thought the shake was overpriced but now I can’t live without it and buy it every single month. It is not just a protein shake, it also has a ton of extra nutrients in it and I really see a difference in my mood, energy and weight loss. Plus it’s delicious and helps keep me feeling great every day. If you purchase your Shakeology with my link send me an email and I’ll give you three weeks of complimentary coaching with me as a special bonus.

The Cons

If you know you’re not going to have the motivation to workout at home this program isn’t for you. I was already doing a lot of home workouts when I signed up so I knew I would use the on-demand library. Before I signed up for Beachbody I did free online workouts I found on YouTube (see my faves here) but I just don’t get the same results as when I do the full workout programs offered in Beachbody. You have to have the motivation to push play and actually workout every day though. The On-Demand library is a great way to get started but I really think you will get better results if you purchase a challenge pack (if you purchase with my link be sure to email me your receipt and I will give you three weeks of complimentary coaching from me). The higher price point of the challenge pack is actually what motivated me to actually work out every day (plus you’ll get accountability check-ins from me). I knew if I invested the money I would complete the program and take it more seriously than if I just signed up for the cheaper Beachbody On-Demand library. It really comes down to if you have the discipline and motivation or not.

I hope this Beachbody On Demand review helps you decide if it is a good fit for you or not. If you want more healthy living tips for managing mental health check out my posts here. I also have a whole podcast episode you can check out about how I use exercise to help manage my depression.
